Local development planning

The Gargano LDP encompasses the interests of all local players. It revolves around a basic issue: ENHANCING THE VALUE OF TYPICAL LOCAL PRODUCTS AND NATURAL AND CULTURAL RESOURCES.

The aim of the Gargano LDP is to enhance the value of local products - identified as typical products - by creating a strong productive system that develops under a territorial brand and growth strategy open to reaching new markets and constantly oriented towards quality and environmental sustainability.

The LDP has elected three areas of action:

• Typical products,
• Environment and Culture,
• Tourism.

As far as animal husbandry and farming are concerned, the Gargano LDP target area sees a situation with small, atomized businesses that really need to join forces to try to seize a strong market foothold and gain in competitiveness.
